Meet our founder

Genevieve Sapp is an accounting and financial management leader with more than 20 years of experience helping organizations strengthen financial operations, reporting, and decision-making.

Her career spans nonprofit organizations, associations, small businesses, and professional services, with experience ranging from hands-on accounting operations to Controller and CFO-level leadership. This combination gives Genevieve a practical understanding of what organizations need at different stages of growth from getting the accounting right to helping leadership use financial information to plan what comes next.

Throughout her career, Genevieve has led and supported accounting operations, budgeting and forecasting, financial reporting, cash-flow management, audit preparation, internal controls, process improvement, and executive and board reporting.

Her nonprofit experience includes organizations managing grants, restricted funding, government contracts, audits, and increasingly complex reporting requirements.

That experience directly influences the BAMS approach: financial information should be accurate, understandable, and useful.

Genevieve believes financial leadership includes helping people understand the numbers—not simply delivering reports.

In addition to leading BAMS, she serves as an adjunct accounting professor, bringing an educator’s perspective to her work with clients, teams, and organizational leaders. Whether working through a financial report, improving an accounting process, or discussing the financial impact of a decision, her approach is practical, direct, and focused on helping people understand the why behind the numbers.

Genevieve’s experience extends beyond accounting into organizational and community leadership. She has served in executive, professional association, and volunteer leadership roles, giving her a broader understanding of the responsibilities leaders carry when balancing financial priorities with people, programs, and organizational goals.

This perspective allows her to approach financial management not as an isolated function, but as part of the organization’s overall strategy and operations.

Genevieve founded Beacon Accounting & Management Solutions to provide organizations with access to experienced accounting and financial leadership at the level they need.
